287: Monday, October 14, 2013 – Sun, sea and moon: Cameras can be fooled into taking pictures they wouldn’t dream of producing automatically, especially with ‘evaluative metering’.
All I had to do was ‘spot meter’ the red clouds, thus making the sea and beach very dark, and then wait for breaking waves to bring lighter bands across the image (I did lighten them a tad using Photoshop but nothing dramatic).
The sun had already set, not that interestingly, but it was highlighting clouds to the west, where the moon was sitting over the marina.
I would have preferred rougher seas, but, hey…
PS: It has got noticeably colder out there … shiver.
